This wizard is meant to help students understand the process of subtracting two numbers.
It can be accessed by clicking on Wizard Button | Basic operations with numbers | Subtract numbers.
In order to subtract two numbers:
- Type each of them in one of the boxes provided (note that the minus sign is already inserted there for you; remember that the order of terms will affect the result).
- Click "Solve Step" as many times as needed to reach the result.
- Remember you can use the "Explain" button whenever you want to take a look at the explanation for a step.
You can subtract numbers which are even longer than the space-holders provided to enter the numbers.
If the first number is smaller than the second number, Algebrator will subtract the largest one minus the smallest one and show the correct result in the last step.
