This wizard is used to find the equation of an ellipse, given the axes lengths and the center.
It can be accessed by clicking on Wizard Button | Ellipse | Equation of an ellipse using axes lengths and its center.
To find the equation of an ellipse:
- Enter the center: (x0,y0).
- Enter the length of the major axis (2a).
- Enter the length of the minor axis (2b).
- Click on the "Solve Step" button to see the next step or "Solve all" button to see all steps.
- Choose the orientation of the ellipse (major axis parallel to x-axis or parallel to y-axis).
Make certain that the length of the major axis is greater than the minor axis.
